Truly amazing final book

It had me laughing, crying and everything in between cant recommend enough. It also has my most favorite type of ending, with a time skip and you get to see how things end up.

Significantly matured over a short few hundred years…

Thank you for sharing, it was a fun exciting adventure. Never too serious and always changing direction with new and unexpected things happening.

Great Story, HUGE book and lots of excitement.

My main issue with this book is that unlike book 1, Book 2 and Book 3 lean way more on “tell not do”. And it’s infuriating at times to have fights scenes slowed by exposition and essentially story telling by the MC. For example he makes a copy of his sword really big, bigger than he ever has before, and so I’m like, “ya!….yah, and?”, meanwhile the MC is actually explaining why he hadn’t done that before instead of just using the giant sword. So fights loose their kinetic feel entirely because they are constantly interrupted by the meandering thoughts of the MC. This is just a bad habit that so many authors get into. Instead of being in the moment, when you interrupt the flow of a fight with exposition then you are really just hearing a recounting of a story, not actually witnessing an actual fight. So as a listener you are waiting for an attack to happen while the MC explains how he had never done this before because he hadn’t needed to….really?

Well, that can be forgiven since it’s still a good book. Sometimes the MC feels like he doesn’t learn fast enough from past mistakes and he still seems totally awkward at times lol. But those are the authors choices and while I don’t always love it, I can certainly respect it.

I’ll be keeping an eye on this author going forward. It’s a great series and I have to say, book 1 has to have been one of the most exciting “book one’s” that I’ve read. I don’t know what the plans are for this series and universe going forward, if there are any at all, but genuinely, I hope we pick back up with these characters again. Hopefully not totally nerfed into oblivion despite use of his powers at the end of the book, he’s still a God and still no longer mortal. He should still not experience threats or fear death based on his cultivation level alone and the lack of Gods in his time splinter. Who knows and I hope we get to find out.

Narration was obviously good. I do love Travis Baldree and I’m sad he was unavailable to do books 2 and 3 but still this narrator is clearly accomplished and skilled. I may not personally agree with the way the MC was voiced but no body cares what I think or asked me ;) still he should be proud of the job he did.

Hope you all enjoyed the book as much as I did.

A very satisfying ending!

What a rollercoaster. I'm very happy with how this book ended the series, and even though he says this was the last of Jake's story, the author left it open to be continued in a creative way. I hope the author continues the story in the future!

Worth it!

There were definitely times that it got to be a bit too much. Too abstract or too depressing but it was worth it. Sooooo worth it. Great job guys. It's rare to find an ending so well done.

its always hard to put down a finished series and yet bitter sweet at the same time.

beloved characters and waiting patiently for the next release is always fun and games until your series is 10 novels long. i can always appreciate a successful narrator cutting ties with a successful title after they feel its run is up. still, sad to know its done. On to the next release now! 5/5. sorry to see Travis go but he is one busy bugger these days. Replacement(cannot recall name and am on audible app, dont want to delete pst to check

Not a dull moment

I enjoyed all of it. Nice way to end a series. As good as the first.

Amazing Ending

I absolutely loved this book and the first 2 books as well the ending was different from what I imagined but it’s was phenomenal it’s still a shame that we won’t get to hear on how Jake stopped the gods in his original timeline but this is a good ending so I’m ok with it but still there’s so much potential for more stories that I’m excited for more from the Author.

Well done and thanks for an amazing world to immerse ourselves in.
