About this listen
GLOBE AND MAIL and NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller!
Harry Hole is an all-time great character...a 100% buy-today-read-tonight delight!"—Lee Child, author of the #1 bestselling Jack Reacher series
"Nesbo is back on gruesome form"—Financial Times
In the 13th novel in this internationally bestselling series, brilliant rogue police investigator Harry Hole is back, this time as an outsider assembling his own team to help find a serial killer.
Two young women are missing in Oslo. Strangers to each other, but last seen at the same party. When the body of one of them is found with fresh stitches along her hairline, the hunt is on to find a murderer with singular compulsions. Catching this criminal calls for a detective with a singular mind: Harry Hole.
But Harry is gone: fired from the police force and down and out in Los Angeles. It seems like nothing can entice him back home—until someone close to him comes under threat.
Now the clock is ticking, for Harry's friend and for the missing woman. Can Harry cobble together a team good enough to help him catch an ingenious psychopath before the body count rises? The hunt will push him to the limit.

Story
It happens more than you might think. One second someone’s life is totally typical, the next it’s terribly tragic. Everything they had, everything they planned, everything they were, all of it vanishes in a flash. Shock and sorrow leave the victim staring into tomorrow’s void, wondering: How did it happen? Who did it? And why?

Story
Martha Ratliff conceded long ago that she’d likely spend her life alone. She was fine with it, happy with her solo existence, stimulated by her work as a librarian in Maine. But then she met Alan, a charming and sweet-natured salesman whose job took him on the road for half the year. When he asked her to marry him, she said yes, even though he still felt a little bit like a stranger.

Story
Former London policeman Alan Banks relocated to Yorkshire seeking some small measure of peace. But depravity and violence are unfortunately not unique to large cities. His new venue, the quaint little village of Eastvale, seems to have more than its fair share of malefactors---among them a brazen Peeping Tom who hides in night's shadows spying on attractive, unsuspecting ladies as they prepare for bed.

Story
The media have descended on Garrett Island, a small, isolated community that is the setting of a visionary experiment. All the residents’ cars were sent to the mainland and for the past month the islanders have been “driving” the Arrival, a revolutionary autonomous vehicle. With a simple voice command, an Arrival will take you wherever you want to go and, because the fleet is networked and aware of one another, car travel is now 100% safe. The future, it seems, has arrived.

Not A Typical Linwood Barclay

What the critics say
“Jo Nesbo is one of today’s most interesting thriller writers, and Harry Hole is an all-time great character—for me, a 100% buy-today-read-tonight delight.” —Lee Child
“Like the old pro he is, Nesbo doles out some teasing details about the killer . . . early on while withholding enough information about [their] modus operandi, motive, and true identity to keep the pages fluttering long past bedtime. A battered hero, a memorably creepy villain, a series of false endings worthy of Jeffery Deaver: What’s not to love?” —Kirkus Reviews (starred review)
“Jo Nesbø slowly but surely proves what a superb master of suspense he is. . . . Killing Moon is a Harry Hole novel of the highest class. The cliffhanger for the next installment is already in place, so there is little doubt here. Harry Hole is back to stay.” —Verdens Gang (Norway)

The plots are always black, but also impenetrable. No chance of figuring out early on what’s really happening. Worth the wait.

Nicely upbeat while retaining that Harry Hole ‘snap’!
The undertones of both Dark and Light humour were well used as counterpoints to some of the more violent images conveying capture, torture and death.((Kind of nice to see Harry aging along with the rest of us))

Can’t even get past the first 15 chapters
I’m a Joe Nesbo fan but the narrator of this book is very tough to listen to so I can not even get into the story. So I can’t even comment on the novel.

Killing Me
Couldn't get into the book ( though Hole and the older woman were interesting). 'Fraid I can't stomach the reader, John Lee, with his irritating "sing-song" voice!
