Publisher's Summary
Life's Little Ironies is an anthology of short stories by Thomas Hardy. This edition from Raconteurs Audio includes a specially commissioned afterword by James Gillies. Life’s Little Ironies first emerged as a series of thematically linked but wholly independent short stories, written from the late 1880s. The collection was originally gathered into a collection in 1894, and ran into several reprints. These quietly understated, typically British short stories, are filled with wry humour and exemplify Hardy's sensitive and sympathetic storytelling.
"A Few Crusted Characters," the story which opens this audiobook, is performed as a multi-voice read, featuring the award-winning narrators who read the subsequent stories.
