About this listen

It started off as a battle of wits. Me: the ordinary girl with a big mouth against him: the sexy bastard with a big...ego.

I thought I'd hit the jackpot when I was upgraded to first class on my flight to London.

That is, until he sat next to me. Gabriel Scott: handsome as sin, cold as ice. Nothing and no one gets to him. Ever. He's a legend in his own right, the manager of the biggest rock band in the world, and an arrogant ass who looks down his nose at me.

I thought I'd give him hell for one, long flight. I didn't expect to like him. I didn't expect to want him. But the biggest surprise? He wants me, too. Only in a way I didn't see coming.

If I accept his proposal, I leave myself open to falling for the one man I can't manage. But I'm tempted to say yes. Because the real man beneath those perfect suits and that cool façade just might be the best thing that's ever happened to me. And I just might be the only one who can melt the ice around his heart.

Let the battle begin....

Contains mature themes.

Kristen's a goddess

This isn't my favorite book in the series; although Gabriel Scott seems to get the most love online from reviewers (I will forever be a Killian James girl - the way her loves Miss Liberty Bell does it for me every time - Idol is my one book for a dessert island!). BUT, the performances here finally have me understanding what all those Scottie fangirls saw. Rupert Channing's crisp, posh British accent here turned my knees to water. It's not just the accent though; his delivery of Scottie's tortured soul makes your heart flutter. What is it about listening to a wonderful male voice that we want to dedicate hours to. There must have been some careful coordination between he and Ms North because their interpretations of how Gabriel and Sophie would deliver lines is so in sinc it's remarkable. Very, VERY nicely done!

Good Read

I love this band, and these characters. It was fun being back in this world. Scottie and Sophie are interesting, entertaining, relatable characters. They captured my attention from the start and held it until the very end. Scottie has been scared by his past and it affects who he is. I enjoyed watching as how he becomes more than he was at the start of the story. I loved that we get to see the couple from the first book and that the band is such a big part of the overall story.

The narrators did a good job – they were easy to understand and follow.
