Mysticism

Simon Critchley’s On Mysticism is a fascinating deep dive into mystical experiences, especially within Christian tradition. He explores figures like Julian of Norwich and Meister Eckhart, connecting their insights to modern literature and philosophy.

I enjoyed the thought-provoking approach, but at times, the book felt more analytical than experiential. It would have been great to see more engagement with non-Christian mysticism as well. That said, it’s a great read for anyone interested in faith, philosophy, and the search for transcendence.
