About this listen

What if you could defuse tension and create accord in even the most volatile situations - just by changing the way you spoke? Over the past 35 years, Marshall Rosenberg has done just that, peacefully resolving conflicts in families, schools, businesses, and governments in 30 countries all over the world. On Nonviolent Communication, this renowned peacemaker presents his complete system for speaking our deepest truths, addressing our unrecognized needs and emotions, and honoring those same concerns in others. With this adaptation of the best-selling book of the same title, Marshall Rosenberg teaches in his own words:

  • Observations, feelings, needs, and requests - how to apply the four-step process of Nonviolent Communication to every dialogue we engage in
  • Overcoming the blocks to compassion - and opening to our natural desire to enrich the lives of those around us
  • How to use empathy to safely confront anger, fear, and other powerful emotions

Here is a definitive audio training workshop on Marshall Rosenberg's proven methods for "resolving the unresolvable" through Nonviolent Communication.

Excellent and thought-provoking

Only recommendation is to listen to it sped up. Other than that it's just a fantastic book. It will flip the script on how you engage in conversations immediately.

What a wonderful book

Beautiful book. With some great ideas to approach communication and check-in with out needs. I listen to it several times. The subject is complicated for being like me, full of triggers and automatic responses.
I have already started to put it into practice.

Lots of good information

This is an easy read. One which I’ll do a few more times I think. The concepts seem simple, but putting them into practice is a whole different story. I look forward to noticing if anything changes in my daily conversations

Nonviolent Communication

Very helpful information. Will take time to implement into one’s everyday dialogue and actions. The narrator’s voice was difficult to hear clearly. With some background noise I had to put my volume to near highest in order to hear what the narrator (Marshall Rosenberg himself?) was saying.

Wow, what a change in my world view

Packed with great examples, this book was a joy to take in. it gives tips and tricks on how to be a better listener, not just taking in words, bit also meaning behind them. I loved it!

only thing: I needed to put Marshall Rosenberg on speed x 1.40 to not fall asleep when he talks!

Exceptional advice applicable to the times

In the handful of times I've had the chance to apply what I've learned in this book, I can see just how powerful this advice is and can be.

slow but informative

Had to speed it up for sure but it was great. I plan on listening to it at least a few more times.

Recommended to everyone I know

Initial impressions: ugh new age hippy crap.
With 5 minutes: holy **** this has the ability to change my life and the relationships I have with every person I care about.

Intelligent, well thought out, feasible means of communicating with others that doesn't fall victim to so many natural tendencies we all have. I have recommended it to everyone I know, particularly the more enlightened. I would also recommend it to you.
