Interesting concept, but a little outdated.

Banner ads and Kazaa references. I'm 40 years old but still too young for some of these references. Why is it called the 'New Edition'?

Great book

I hope audible would have divided the chapters with proper index . (Case study) . It doesn’t mention the headlines too while reading . I had to buy written book .

Classic shows its age

This book is an undeniable classic. The challenges with classics are whether they hold up after all these years. Purple Cow is definitely due for an update showing its age with business examples like the oft cited J Peterman catalog (whatever that is), AOL, and other old timey references.
My recommendation, read the better Blue Ocean Strategies instead
