About this listen
From the New York Times best-selling author of the Gray Man series comes a startlingly realistic novel of World War III.
A desperate Kremlin takes advantage of a military crisis in Asia to simultaneously strike into Western Europe and invade east Africa in a bid to occupy three rare Earth mineral mines that will give Russia unprecedented control over the world's hi-tech sector for generations to come.
Pitted against the Russians are a Marine lieutenant colonel pulled out of a cushy Pentagon job, a French Special Forces captain and his intelligence operative father, a young Polish partisan fighter, an A-10 Warthog pilot, and the commander of an American tank platoon who, along with his German counterpart, fight from behind enemy lines.
Through grand land, sea, and air battles to a small unit fighting hand-to-hand in the jungle, Russia and the US face off in a terrifying but thrilling battle for world dominance - with constant the threat of a Russian nuclear detonation ever present.

Got me hooked on audio books!
The story and performance was so much more then I was expecting! The Lieutenant Colonel made the book come to life way better then I feel a movie could!

Riveting Story
I was always a huge fan of Tom Clancy and have missed his work since his untimely death. I have been searching for something else of that calibre ever since. I definitely found it. Mr. Greaney is an excellent writer and I have finally found a worthy successor to Mr. Clancy in my book collection. The story was fast paced and the performance of the narrator was excellent.

Good escape novel.
Although I thought it was a bit cliched, with some predictable outcomes, I still found it engaging and enjoyable. There is still suspense, some surprises, and characters you will feel for.

a lot like Tom Clancy
the story started out with a lot of hype and politics, very much like a Tom Clancy novel, but it certainly got going about half way through!
not quite what I'm used to from Mark Greaney.

Great performance
I thought the performance was great, but the story was sub-par. It didn’t hook me at all, and some of the characters were so cliched I would roll my eyes.
Too bad, as I enjoyed Mark Greaneys story’s before.

Good story, too much detail
Really enjoyed this. As is the case for much of this genre, you have to suspend disbelief re: some of the story elements but none of it is outrageous. The authors write a very good story, but there is a heavy emphasis on the technicalities of war fighting and weapons and IMHO, the story is too long. But these quibbles are minor. The authors know their stuff to be sure. The narration was excellent. If you like this genre, then you'll like this book. 20 hours of story is good value for money!
