The delivery. The narrator was awesome with tone and cadence to draw you in and engage you in the story
I thought this was a very well written, fast paced story. The author grabbed your attention right from the first chapter and the flow as the story unfolded was smooth and captivating. The characters were relatable and made the reader feel a though they knew them. Highly recommend.

I wasn’t a fan of the voice actor (found that they spoke at a weird pace), but I greatly enjoyed the story overall!

Meh plot but no twist, long winded and fizzled fast
this authors books always leave me feeling scatterbrained like the professionals in the book are constantly chasing their tails and they seem unnecessarily stupid.
This book wasn’t too long but I think the author got stuck, so she added unnecessarily to the book.
For e.g. when Morgan, knowing legal procedure, did nothing to help the family friend [the first suspect] until the cops show up in force to search their house and to arrest then, Then she visits, looks at them all dejected and says “don’t talk to the cops without a lawyer“ um, too little too late, they already talked to the cops, that’s why they zeroed in on them, those pages could have been wiped from the book if she had acted as their lawyer before or advised them not to talk without a lawyer present as soon as she knew they were involved.
Another unnecessary part of the story is when Tony shows up with Jamie and she’s sick then it’s the big reveal to her about what’s happening in her case before they whisk her to the hospital, Tony could’ve just taken her to the hospital and called them to let them know where she is, and they could have called her mom. Why the extra unnecessary words???
It took this book Until chapter 41, literally three chapters before the end of the book, to get to the reveal and at the reveal they were shocked because they had the killer’s identity wrong!!! the killer outing himself and in the lamest possible way. I laughed at this, it was so sad and horrible procedure! After the killer confessed and passed out, they just walk away even before the cops get there they just walk away leaving the hospital staff to deal with the killer who moments before was holding someone else hostage by knifepoint WTH????
To make matters worse the killer is revealed at chapter 41 [Literally three chapters before the end of the book], but you still have to wait to the final chapter 10 minutes before the book ends for everything to be wrapped up.
