Chris "Shooter" Sullivan has returned to his hometown of Rapid City, South Dakota, to pick up the pieces of his life shattered by a roadside bomb in Iraq. Gah, this first entry into the Burnout Series is on fire!! The camaraderie of the retired Ranger team coupled with Hayley's haunting past sucked me in. Theirs is a relationship slowly built on communication and trust and a healthy dose of sass and humour. I can't wait to read the rest of the books!

Excellent narration!! A really great story that pulled me right in and kept me there until the end. This book was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at times. Trigger warning for rape and kidnapping. I laughed way more than I cried though and I absolutely loved almost all the characters! (Ugh, you'll know who I am leaving out) I love their HEA and I am excited to listen to the other boy's stories!
