About this listen

When Timothy finally found work as a tester for a popular online MMORPG, his lifelong dream was fulfilled. And now, he earns money (and pretty good money, at that) just for doing what he loves - playing a beautiful and realistic computer game. But he isn't some typical run-of-the-mill player, like the millions of others. Timothy is truly capable and talented, and stands out from the crowd. In fact, the faceless masses consider him far too lucky and successful. Many players dislike him for his achievements and hunt him down ruthlessly just because they feel envious or because he looks different. So, what is he to do now that the whole world is against him and his only allies are his beloved sister and a few trusted friends? Make peace? Sink down to their level? Or just fly ever higher on the wings of success? It's all up to Timothy!

quite good

you know it's a good story when you find yourself fearing for the the protagonist I just wish it was longer it really sucks paying a whole credit for such short books. I think after I'm done with this series I'm going to put litrpg on the sidelines for a while. gotta get more bang for my buck running through credits this fast due to short books is rather irritating.

get a better translator

The narrator is solid and the story is entertaining, but the relentlessly repetitive phrases "beautiful redhead/goblin/dancer is lazy and irritating. Maybe in the original language this adjective proceeding every female character is less tiresome, but in English, it's grating, simplistic and feels immature. Find more interesting/less shallow ways to describe your female characters.

Disturbingly casual sexual assault

At one point a secondary woman character is gang raped by the ‘good’ NPC pirates which is live streamed. This scene is the ‘happy’ resolution or comeuppance of her overtly sexual behaviour and betrayal of the main character. Once the event occurs it is never mentioned again in the book. It creates a turd in the punch bowl novel where any positive aspects of the novel are drowned out by the really bad.
