Publisher's Summary

A romantic cabin getaway doesn't go exactly as planned.

High up on the windswept cliffs of Pale Peak, Faye and Felix celebrate their new engagement. But soon, a chorus of ghastly noises erupts from the nearby woods: the screams of animals, the cries of children, and the mad babble of a hundred mournful voices. A dark figure looms near the windows in the dead of night, whispering to Faye. As the weather turns deadly, Felix discovers that his terrified fiancée isn't just mumbling in her sleep—she's whispering back.

Average Horror Story

If you have watched a horror movie, you have read this book already. Reader's voice comes off as comical at the wrong times.

a good attempt at a creepy story

Not bad, but not great. There were some very creepy segments of the story. The ending was a little unsatisfying.
Somewhat amateur writing. Needs an editor.

Deliciously creepy and entertaining!

Hooked me from the start and didn't let go!
A wild monster ride! I could relate to Felix's fear...learning it actually has a name! Yay! I'm not the only one!
I felt utterly squeamish at times. My heart raced throughout the majority of the book. If you like monster in the woods books, but also demons in the mind, this one is for you!
Outstanding!

delightfully creepy

amazing story. it's rare that horror spooks me anymore but this one got me double checking my doors and windows at night. my only qualm is when the reader does women's voices, he sounds like Linda from Bob's burgers.

Awesome to see some Indigenous Myths!

I really enjoyed “Stolen Tongues,” it was refreshing to see a Native American cryptid as a main antagonist. The big reveal was a little lacklustre, but the monster was creepy and interesting enough to keep me entertained regardless. I would give it a listen if you want a fun and spooky campfire story that you don’t have to think too deeply about.

The tension is real

Definitely had some terrifying moments. The tension was fantastic. The ending was a bit lackluster, but still worth a listen. The narration was impeccable.
