Great and suspenseful listen
I really enjoyed this book. It was a stunning prolific horrendous and suspenseful story and I sincerely enjoyed the twists and turns involved in it. Great listen with so many unexpected endings.
It was well narrated and I was able to follow along the path.
That path however , was very long and too many non related descriptions. I enjoy the story telling of this author However, this is my second of his books and man they are torturously long and long winded.
This author describes the mug the person is holding the colour, shape, size. The coaster it sits on. Plus the colour and make of the table that has the mug and said coaster. Jesus never ending mundane stuff.
I like Kevin O’Briens mystery and suspense books but he could cut away 5-6 hours and nothing will be missed . Except the relentlessly boring droning on and on.
It would have been a 5 but my Goodness so many hours. I fast forward some entire minutes and caught up without a problem.
Be prepared to press the fast forward button a lot. Had it not been for the length of Kevin O’Briens book I would have recommended a CREDIT. However, I’m grateful that it was included in my Library. Thank you Audible Plus.

Fantastic
This story is about the unselfishness love of a mother for her son. What lengths would you go through to protect someone that you love more then you love yourself? Lisa did that and more…she would give up her own life if it meant that her beloved son Josh could live in peace. Very exciting and a roller coaster of emotions with a plot twist that makes you breathless.

Suspend your Belief to read/listen to this book
I’ve enjoyed many books by this author but this one was torture.
This is a dull, trudging listening experience. Even sped up, it’s boring because it’s 14 hours of the main character doing the same thing over and over. This could have been a six hour book and delivered more of an action packed experience.
Instead you’re left continually frustrated with a main character who blunders her way through everything she does. You get to suffer through 6 hours of her trying to solve a mystery that could be summed up in two hours.
I wouldn’t recommend if you have read other books by this author. It’s fine if you want noise in the background as it doesn’t require much brain power for how slow it moves plot wise. Truly disappointing since I praise a lot of his other works.
The narrator though has a very calm voice to listen too and does a good job with what he’s given.

Long winded
Storyline was good at the beginning but way too long, I gave up after 29 chapters, couldn’t handle the same twists happening over and over when I had already figured out who it was.

Wait for the abridged version
Narrator was good but this book could have been about 7 hours shorter and still told the story well
