Publisher's Summary

Poppy Maysen carries a journal in her purse. Its pages were filled long ago by a man who craved adventure, lived life to the fullest, and never failed to make her laugh. The journal is his birthday list - one she vows to complete.

She'll do the things he wanted to do most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can finish his list, she can start to live again.

Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn't expect is Cole. Could the man who watched her heart shatter be the one to put it back together again?

It was fine

Story was cute, female narrator was good but the male narrator just sounded so damn old that I couldn’t get into it like I should have. The female narrator sounded really young so the whole thing just felt like someone getting it on with their grandfather.

Uplifting story, good romance

I really enjoyed this book. DP is a fave of mine and this was my first time listening to one of her books vs reading it. The performance was really good. I would’ve liked a little more drama to the performance but overall the different characters were diverse and well developed.

Slow to start

I almost did not finish this book. The beginning had alot of repetitive angst/ guilt from Female lead. It was necessary for the story but felt DP could of developed that bit of the story line better and not have so many repetitive internal monologues of the Female Lead . Once the story progressed the book got better and I’m glad I stuck with it.

This is probably the best Devney Perry book I have read/listened to yet!!

I loved how emotional it was. I can’t imagine losing the love of your life, then achieving basically his bucket list (in this case his birthday list), then falling in love all over again with someone else. I really really felt for Poppy. She was a great female lead. Though a few times she made it so hard on herself, it took her the whole book basically to let go and except reality. I can’t blame her though. It had to be tough.

I also really loved Cole. He was a great support system. He never pushed or rushed Poppy. We love a man who can respect your boundaries and comfort zone, but also be there to help encourage you. It was a great time going through this story. I loved seeing the character growth. I also have to point this out. I am a sucker for any crime solving in romance books. Though this wasn’t super heavy on it, I felt it was more personal and really brought closure to this book. Cole did so much for Poppy, and I honestly kept falling in love with him over and over again throughout the book.

I LOVED the side characters. The fun little moments were entertaining. I really wish I could sit there in the restaurant being surrounded by all these characters.

The narrators weren’t over the top amazing, but they did a good job. I feel like maybe now I’m a little biased to some narrators but overall don’t have anything to write home about for them.
