About this listen
World Fantasy Award-winning, best-selling author Robert McCammon makes a triumphant return to the epic horror and apocalyptic tone reminiscent of his books Swan Song and Stinger in this gripping new novel, The Border, a saga of an Earth devastated by a war between two marauding alien civilizations.
But it is not just the living ships of the monstrous Gorgons or the motion-blurred shock troops of the armored Cyphers that endanger the holdouts in the human bastion of Panther Ridge. The world itself has turned against the handful of survivors, as one by one they succumb to despair and suicide or, even worse, are transformed by otherworldly pollution into hideous Gray Men, cannibalistic mutants driven by insatiable hunger. Into these desperate circumstances comes an amnesiac teenaged boy who names himself Ethan - a boy who must overcome mistrust and suspicion to master unknowable powers that may prove to be the last hope for humanity's salvation. Those same powers make Ethan a threat to the warring aliens, long used to fearing only each other, and thrust him and his comrades into ever more perilous circumstances.
A major new novel from the unparalleled imagination of Robert McCammon, this dark epic of survival will both thrill listeners and make them fall in love with his work all over again.

McCammon does it again.
Is there no end to Robert McCammon's talent? He took a leap into uncharted territory when he wrote The Border and did so with his usual brilliance. To add to the thrill of this sci-fi adventure, Fred.Berman provides narration that is absolutely perfect. My only complaint is that I find the ending rather ambiguous; but, considering the enigmatic nature of the story, perhaps the author meant the book to conclude this way.

Great story!!!
This novel is so different from The Five and 1800 series!!! I really enjoyed and loved the characters in this novel. Novel has depth and keeps one reading/listening. Obviously Robert R. McCammon very capable writer who enjoys writing on a variety of subjects which is truly entertaining to the reader. Looking forward to what he will create in the future. And great narration by Fred Berman.

Beyond excellent performance!!!
The book was a nice surprise, very well constructed version of an otherwise familiar storyline. Performance however... not enough adjectives to describe. Fred Berman is simply the best. Perfect timing, not too slow not too fast. The unlimited amount of voices, tones he is able to so flawlessly create is just unparalleled. I though I had my favorite performer pick out until this book.
Thank you Fred!

Fantastic Character Development
And a pretty good story too! McCammon holds nothing back, jumping right into the action in the first page. You can’t help but build a connection with the characters who are brilliantly brought to life through the talent of Fred Berman.
Buying The Border blindly, I didn’t know what to expect from this one...the abstract sounded good and it delivered. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to adding more from McCammonto my reading list.

this just might be my new favourite book!
everything about this book was amazing. I love post apocalyptic stories, but the science fiction twist was new to me. The story and narration could not have been better. I loved every sentence in this book...the story teller made it so much better. There is no need to second guess getting this book!

Excellent
McCammon does it again. After all these years this is as good as all of his other books. Fantastic, and the narrator was superb.

I want my time back.
It has been years since I read this Author, I recall enjoying his work. Yet, I was disappointed in the story and ended up giving up on the story with only a few chapters left.
