About this listen
Despite their agreeable demeanor, INFPs represent one of the most passionate and complex personality types within the Myers-Briggs Inventory. Employing a wholly unique stack of cognitive functions, this type sees the world around them not just as it is but also as it could be - making them a deeply imaginative and highly idealistic personality.
In this detailed, type-based survival guide, seasoned MBTI author Heidi Priebe explains the strengths and struggles INFPs face as they navigate the world around them as one of the most creative and emotionally intense personality types.

The explanation of the INFP function stacks using the metaphor of flowing water/river
While overall this book is extremely beneficial for understanding this particular MBTI type better, some parts are more spot on and better than the rest. I don’t agree with certain portions of the book, such as, the part on conflict resolution where the author seems to imply that it is the INFP who is at fault and should change his/her ways. That is not always the case as INFPs are frequently victimised and preyed upon by narcissistic types for their tenderness, empathy and helpful nature. Sometimes walking away from such filthy people and dropping them from our lives is the best solution instead of engaging in assertive style of conflict resolution. You can only reason with reasonable, civilised human beings, not with garbage, savage, high decibel abusers. A good amount of the behavioural challenges described in this book are not specific to just INFP types but to many other types. Example : the chapter on breakup and downward spirals after the end of a serious relationship. Any emotional person would suffer like an INFP in such a painful scenario unless they were made of stone or were playboys. While I would encourage fellow INFPs to definitely read through this in-depth book to gain a better understanding of themselves, do so with a grain of salt and apply your critical thinking and analytical skills while going through the advice given. It is due to the above mentioned inadequacies that I was forced to dock a star from this otherwise great INFP manual.
