Publisher's Summary

The first four novels of The Day After Never series.

They said it couldn't happen...

...the day would never come.

They were wrong.

The apocalypse was five years ago. Little has changed. There isn't any law, but there used to be. Back then, Lucas Shaw had been a Texas lawman. Now he's just trying to survive.

In a kill-or-be-killed wasteland, death is always around. Will today be his last?

When a young woman enters his life, he must make an impossible decision: help her in a battle against an adversary who'll stop at nothing or keep himself alive. Which will he choose?

A highly acclaimed post-apocalyptic series from The New York Times and USA Today best-selling author at a special bundle price.

Captivating, could not put it down.

I really appreciated the way that they portrayed the struggle in the book, real realism in terms of consequences of actions. The romantic relationship being so realistic and the issues with trust being true to today's standards.

Good story

Slow in some places. Writer seemed to be trying to impress with their vocabulary. Nice performance. Worth the credit

Easy Listening…

Love a hood apocalypse story. I listen while I walk or run. This one I consumed even when I was not doing that. That’s the gauge for how good it was.

An interesting story premise partially ruined.

The premise is very interesting and topical with COVID-19. The story was hampered by very weak female characters and a constant religious undertone that became distracing. The main character, Lucas, was a good hero but failed to grow. All of the female characters were weak hangers on to the men around them, they also suffered from a lack of character development or growth.

The narrator was wooden in the first two books but did loosen up.

Good but not great

So I liked the story (for the most part). There were sections where as the listener that 'suspension of disbelief' was tested but we got through it.

The Narrator got the hit because I found the voices were not consistent (first world problem). So he got good, not great.

No regrets on the purchase.

Entertaining

Very much enjoyed. Decent characters, both good and bad. Sierra is quite insufferable though.
