About this listen
Where the Marble Arch stands today in London was once the Tyburn gallows - also known as The Hanging Tree. The walk toward those gallows along Oxford Street and past the Mayfair mansions has a bloody and haunted history as the last trip of the condemned. Some things never change. For both blood and ghosts have returned to those mansions of the super-rich. And it's up to Peter Grant - England's last wizard and the Metropolitan Police's reluctant investigator of all things supernatural - to get to the bottom of the sinister doings.

Excellent entertaining series continues to deliver
This continues to be an excellent series with an excellent narrator. The fantastical elements are blended very well in a "police procedural" (sort of) with a strong sense of humour.

Another Excellent Urban Fantasy Police Procedural
Definitely read the earlier ones first, or at least the first one, as some of the elements of that book return to this one.
This is my second time listening to this book, and I am now firmly of the opinion I could listen to Kobna Holdbrook-Smith recite the London A-Z.
I love Peter Grant's cheeky humour and wry observations, his deep fondness for London (although this time in with his geeky enthusiam for architecture there is a lot of distain for the gentification of London by the rich) and the ever present long suffering banter from the senior officers. There is also an interesting parent/teen theme running throughout.
