Upon the cliffs of a remote Scottish island, Lòn Haven, stands a lighthouse.

A lighthouse that has weathered more than storms.

Mysterious and terrible events have happened on this island. It started with a witch hunt. Now, centuries later, islanders are vanishing without explanation.

Coincidence? Or curse?

Liv Stay flees to the island with her three daughters, in search of a home. She doesn’t believe in witches, or dark omens, or hauntings. But within months, her daughter Luna will be the only one of them left.

Twenty years later, Luna is drawn back to the place her family vanished. As the last sister left, it’s up to her to find out the truth . . .

But what really happened at the lighthouse all those years ago?

Amazing!

Fantastic!!! Couldn't stop listening. Having so many people narrating made it that much more immersive and interesting. The book keeps you guessing until the very end. Also love how it switches perspectives and perfectly weaves all the jumps in time together. Highly recommend!!

amazing from start to finish

C.J. Cooke has pulled together different timeliness and different POVs and woven through the central story with grace and precision. The characters were amazing. Cooke expertly hides an important lesson in the unfolding of this tale. It's suspenseful, eery, full of little twists and both heart-wrencjing and heart-warming. Another C.J. Cooke novel is already cued up.

A very ingaging story done by very ingaging narrators. The audible book was a mystery and thrill to listen which had me desperately trying to guess the end. I would highly recommend.

I was enthralled!

This was an absolutely fantastic listen. The performances absolutely incredible and each narrator bringing their chapters to life for me. With sooth and caning voices but still keeping my attention locked in.
With each chapter I grew more and more attached to each of the characters, always holding out hope for them to have a happy ending. I loved how small and intimate this book felt. Although I can see for some that this book may be light on dark magic, witchcraft or any intense dark themes of the occult. I was throughly impressed and left in suspense always excited to get to the next chapter and see where the story took me. I would easily suggest this book to anyone looking for a book that keeps you entertained and keeps its aura of suspense without ever feeling too overwhelming.
I loved it!

Captivating

A unique twist on classic folklore, rich with mystery and magic. It was easy to get immersed in the characters, and the author brilliant frames multiple POVs to allow a fuller story. If you like witchcraft that's both modern and historical, this is a great book to invest your time in.
