About this listen
The Glass changed the world forever.
Ransom and Britt attempt to settle into a new life, but a dreadful threat is constantly hanging over their heads.
The settlers in Tucson know their time is limited. An invasion is underway.
Peggy is adamant they can destroy the Glass, but it will take a trip to another time and place to ensure it remains off.
Cedric, under a cloud of doubt, must decide where his true allegiance leans.
There is hope—a military base with something that could change the tides of their future.
No one seems to have remembered the base exists, but they search for their salvation. Joel is determined to finish the battle before it begins, but his chances of survival are bleak.
The Secret Base concludes this chapter of The Glass from Nathan Hystad, the author of Lost Contact, The Event, and The Other Place.

Story
War heroes aren't usually called out of semi-retirement and sent to the far reaches of the galaxy for a routine investigation. So when Colonel Carl Butler answers the call from an old and powerful friend, he knows it's something big - and he's not being told the whole story. A high councilor's son has gone MIA out of Cappa Base, the space station orbiting a battle-ravaged planet. The young lieutenant had been wounded and evacuated - but there's no record of him having ever arrived at hospital command.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Great story!
First let me say how much I love R.C. Bray! He is my favorite voice actor and I often chose my books because he is the narrator. I really enjoyed this series. Great character development, suspenseful and I like the theory of multiple earths. I just have one question. Why were the visitors, the sasquatch like humans, able to activate the glass without any devices if they didn't create it?

hilariously bad in my opinion nothing the characters do make sense
not even RC Bray can save this one.
it's honestly just a case of poor writing. I know it's a book but everything feels way to convenient, like no one would do that, no one would trust this guy and how is it everyone knows how to a fly UFO.
the thing that really ruins it is one of the main characters, that has obviously been the antagonist / main bad guy since the beginning of the books gets away with it every time, betrays the main group of characters so many times and yet still gets away with it just to come back and cause more problems and again they let him go so he can do it again in another book that's going to be equally as bad/poorly written.
