Story
In 2017, President Obama, in his final Oval Office interview, was asked who gave him hope for the future of the country, and Jason Kander was the first name he mentioned. Suddenly, Jason was a national figure. As observers assumed he was preparing a run for the presidency, Jason announced a bid for mayor of Kansas City instead and was headed for a landslide victory. But after eleven years battling PTSD from his service in Afghanistan, Jason was seized by depression and suicidal thoughts. He dropped out of the mayor’s race and out of public life. And finally, he sought help.

Story
When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn't have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave - "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" - wasn't about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because "time is all you have... and you may find one day that you have less than you think").

Deeply revealing
My mother was dying when I started this audiobook. It helped me understand grief and accept the final outcome which occurred two weeks later. I am impressed by the author’s voice both spoken and intuitive. Her voice was so calming and gentle that it couldn’t have been read better. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand life and the significance of death.

This book helped me find happiness.
It was suggested by my counsellor after my miscarriage to read this book as I needed to find happiness. I could relate to this book as being a nurse I have worked in palliative care. This book taught me I need to throw away the picture I had in my mind of how my life should be and just embrace the life I do have. This book helped me come out of a very dark place after my miscarriage.

lovely
A beautiful story filled with wonderfully wise words from people who've lived, learned and let go. I found it very inspiring and enjoyed listening to the kind, warm voice of the author.

It was good
I enjoyed it, but maybe it was the tone of it which was understandably sad for the most part. I go through most audio books pretty quick, but this one took quite some time. Maybe a different narrator other than the author?

Dissapointing
Over the years I had heard so many good things about this book but after listening to it it completely ruined it. the narrating was horrific. The content and stories offered some entertainment but mostly left me feeling sad and uninspired.

The voice is sooo boring!
I have heard several books and so far, this is the worst narrated one. As soon as I play I start yawning because the voice is so plain, so slow, too calm. Is really hard to keep the pace.
