Looking back, they called those turbulent times simply The Troubles.
A period of chaotic upheaval and destruction that sent the Republic reeling through successive crises, each growing more desperate as the galaxy spun out of control.
Exactly when The Troubles started…that was open to interpretation. After the Savage Wars were thought to have ended, said some. Others claimed the period of death and war began with the Republic's action on Psydon. Still, others pointed to the Republic's forced migration of the zhee or even the arrival of the Mid-Core Rebellion, culminating in victories against the Legion at Kublar and the genocidal atrocities extending as far as Rhysis Whan.
But no matter when they began, the galaxy-shaking events of The Troubles were well remembered by those who suffered through them, and the scars of those upheavals would leave their indelible mark for years, and perhaps lifetimes, to come.
The brazen and open government corruption infesting the former capital planet of Utopion.
The arrival of the tyrant Goth Sullus, who briefly united opposition to the Republic before falling prey to the vanity of the title…The Emperor.
The Legion's invocation of Article Nineteen of the Republic Constitution, which brought an all-consuming flame to a simmering cold war that had long been stewing between the rulers and those forced to fight their needless wars.
The sudden unexpected attack by an alien race known as the Cybar. Relentless. Cruel. Inhuman in the extreme.
And finally, the long-planned return of a tribe of lost Savages, led by their messiah…the Golden King.
The Troubles. A quaint name for a horrific period in the galaxy's history. A period whose atrocities were superseded only by the terror of the Savage Wars that had come before. Almost no corner of the galaxy was spared a taste of terrible war, cutthroat intrigue…and remorseless death.
In the aftermath, this battered galaxy now longs for peace and stability. The Republic, now reformed, seeks to govern by the rule of law. But no matter how sincere the reform, how earnest and well-meaning the ruler, some worlds refuse to place their destiny in the hands of others. Ever again.
Been there. Done that. Got burned along the way.
Because some things never change. Power summons would-be tyrants eager to seize it. Ancient vendettas cry out to be settled. Corruption worms its way through the souls of men too weak to resist it or too wicked to try. And dead-eyed killers gather in all the usual starports, awaiting the opportunity to do what they do best for the promise of a quick credit.
Through it all, the silent Legion waits for its cue to once more tread upon the stage and break its enemies through nothing more and nothing less than total violence of action capably applied. As though this time… things will be different.
Out on the edge, they say…
Everyone's got a plan until the Legion shows up.

season 3...
not having RC Bray as the narrator just makes it mot the same. I know Mr. Bray isn't well and is choosing which titles to do, but I'm not in total agreement on which h ones he's choosing to keep doing and not.

WTF…Narrator sucks
Love the series, ruined by narrator switch. Terrible narration. Why does he switch to a deeper voice for women characters. His normal voice sounds effeminate then gets deep when changing to any character. Went from KTF to FML….

No Rc Bray but still quite solid entry
Not having Rc Bray is just a drawback, but not a substantial one. The story was solid, had some cool flashbacks of the old gang, and slowly introduced some new characters for this new chapter. Overall it was quite good, once you get past the first our and your brain switches narrators.

Bring back RC Bray please
Not as enjoyable and engaging without RC Bray. I thought I mixed up and bought the wrong audiobook for a couple chapters until I realized it wasn't the same narratror.

Hard to lose RC Bray but keep going, it gets better as it goes and the story is really good.
Losing RC Bray as the reader was really hard. I almost gave up within the first few chapters. You have to relearn all the characters and reimagine them. It is like starting a new story completely.
The storyline is quite good however, you just need to keep going. The reader also improves as the book advances.

great story, narration was off
I understand that RC is busy but to switch up the mainline narration so far into the series was jarring, hearing different descriptors and voices made it a bit tough to get through.
though I enjoyed the story and admit mark is a great narrator he doesn't have the grit that RC Bray brings... The grit that you need when talking about the legion. Because of this I found myself pulled out of the story more than into it especially when hearing iconic voices such as Chhun, Owens, Ford and Wraith...
in my personal opinion I would have much rather waited for RC Bray to perform the narration that have it switched up to someone else.

Loved the audio book, I searched for anything else new in the Galaxy edge Universe (that I haven't all ready enjoyed) fills in some blanks and is definitely enjoyable.

Great start to a new season
ya sure, its different without RC Bray. But Mark Boyett is solid. Sure he messes a couple names up here and there but it's still a great story being told professionally. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see where this new season goes.

Can’t finish it
Mark Boyett absolutely butchered it. No RC Bray, no galaxy’s edge. Unlistenable. I can’t even follow the story. I don’t even think he can read

butchered
no rc bray killed the book for me... so hard to follow.. i normally dont mind mark.. but not suited for this series.
