Publisher's Summary

A Warhammer Horror audio drama.

On a world cut off from the Imperium, towering spires are lashed by endless rain. As citizens flee from the drowning city, a sadistic Imperial interrogator seeks a lowly data-drone with a terrible secret. But when disaster strikes, the pair must rely on each other for survival as the Watcher in the Rain awaits them.

Listen to it because: Hear a world in peril, with a magnificent soundscape acting as the backdrop to a thoroughly frightening tale of two enemies forced to work together against a darkness that will consume them both.

The story: In the far reaches of Imperial space, a ferocious warp storm approaches an Administratum world, cutting off the entire planet from the rest of the Imperium. As their towering grey spires are punished by endless rain, countless administrators, tithe-masters, and book-keepers are forced to evacuate. Among them is Greta, a lowly data-drone with a terrible secret, wanted for questioning by the sadistic Imperial interrogator Stefan Crucius. As disaster strikes and the pair are left stranded in the depths of the drowning city, captor and captive must cooperate to stand any chance of escaping. But a mysterious presence stalks them through the abandoned, flooded towers, a dread entity each must confront but which neither dare acknowledge, a Watcher in the Rain.

Written by Alec Worley. Running time 74 minutes. Performed by Matthew Hunt, Deeivya Meir, Melvin Rawlinson and Richard Reed.

A great drama, but too many horrors to focus on.

Well casted and acted, this Warhammer 40K audio drama nails it with spot on voice acting, immersive sound effects, and a suspenseful setting richly colored through sound and subtle description.

the story itself, though brimming with potential, feels tame as far as warp entities go. Over the course of the story, we become less focused on the Watcher and more focused on the guilty psyche of the characters within.

Although I was hoping for more than a psychological horror, I enjoyed what this was for its length.

Call of Cthulhu + 40K! GLORIOUS MADNESS AWAITS YOU

This is a PERFECT Grim Dark experience full of dark irony and set to the backdrop of a corruption and madness. It is set in Administratum World literally drowning in unnatural rain and haunted by the Watcher in the Rain. The Watcher is not even the real monster mind you, it simply shows you the monster that the Imperium has made YOU into forces you to confront the horrible things that mindless toil and duty has made you do. The full darkness of the Imperiums brainwashing and inference to suffering is put on full display in this glorious homage to Call of Cthulhu.

holy crap, that ending

amazing story with an extremely dark and bleak ending, that makes me feel bad for the "villian". its a amazingly well voice acted book, the sound effects are amazing, and the ending has such a twist of cruel fate/irony that I can't stop thinking about
