Increase the speed

Was I glad to read increase the speed of the dialogue. Made for a much better voice! You get the changes with the tone. As it was very mono tone otherwise.

Great story! My first of many Tom Clancy’s books!

excellent read

I really enjoyed the reader of the story. with the story being set back in 1970, the reader's voice fits in perfectly with that.

Even Better the Second Time

I read this book when it was first published. Loved it then, love it now. I would read it again, however, I'd forego the audio version. Why? Because the quality of the recording is not great. The Narrator is mediocre at best but more importantly, the recording quality sucks. It's fuzzy and somewhat distorted. Kind of like listening to an old 78 record. It detracts from the story because it makes it hard to understand at times. Otherwise, it's classic Clancy and they don't get much better than that. Still waiting for the movie.

Pretty good

A prelude to the Rainbow Six novel following the life and times of a Vietnam navy seal, it's a good story but the narration is a touch dry for a lot of the reading.

wish this was movie, set in the original timeframe

I love this book, but they should have based the movie in time it was written, some books don't relate to present day. very well narrated, I like how Michael uses accents when he can.

Overall Enjoyable

The presenter was good, but some of the sections seemed to be recorded at different volumes. You could really tell where they spliced his reading together which took away some immersion.

The story was interesting, if a little unbelievable. But the way it fits into the Jack Ryan series with shared characters makes it enjoyable.

excellent

just a fantastic book from start to finish with an excellent narration and great ending. New to Clancy? I wish I knew to start here, and then red October.

If only

The rewards of righteous are great but the reality of great endings are priceless. This story contains both of these elements.
