CULTIVATING SAINTS, SAGES, AND STATESMEN THROUGH THE GREAT TRADITION

In this Papal Snapshot, we cover the extraordinary testimony of St. Peter Chrysologus (c. 380-c. 450) that the Church requires the authority of the Pope in order to settle doctrinal disputes, which is Catholic belief to this day.

  • #6 | The Foolishness of God: Many Christians Already Embrace the Antichrist Agenda
    Oct 30 2024

CULTIVATING SAINTS, SAGES, AND STATESMEN THROUGH THE GREAT TRADITION

This is the first episode in our new series, "The Foolishness of God: The End Times." The term "foolishness of God" comes from St. Paul, who said "the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men" (1 Cor. 1:25). He was speaking about the Passion of Our Lord, which the Church teaches is a type of the end times Passion of the Church (see the Catholic Catechism, paragraphs 675-77).

In this first introductory installment, we'll discuss the Antichrist Agenda as outlined by the famous 19th century protestant convert, St. John Henry Newman, and how most Christians have already accepted many parts of it.

  • #5 | Setting the Record Straight: Reformation Era Pope Repents, and Warns of Luther's Errors
    Oct 16 2024

CULTIVATING SAINTS, SAGES, AND STATESMEN THROUGH THE GREAT TRADITION

This is the first episode in our new series, "Setting the Record Straight: The Truth vs. Anti-Catholic Myths," in which we will refute various anti-Catholic myths, and share eye-opening accounts that paint an entirely different picture of the Catholic Church than we are often given.

In this first installment, we cover a largely unknown story of a Pope who not only repented of the sins of priests and Popes at the very beginning of the protestant "reformation," but also provided a stunningly accurate and prophetic warning about where Luther's errors would lead. When I first heard this story as a protestant, I was shocked. I never knew a Catholic Pope, amidst the heat of the "reformation," had shown such transparent humility. It showed me a side of the Catholic Church I never knew, and was certainly never told about. In addition, the Pope's warnings about where Luther's principles would lead rang uncomfortably true with my experience as a protestant.

This story will help refute two comment protestant assertions: that the Catholic Church was unrepentantly corrupt, and that Luther's principles were an attempt at "reform" rather than a revolution.
