I think it is vitally important in today's social climate to focus on those aspects of Islam which elevate humankind and I can think of no better place to start than with the Sufi mystics of Islam, of which Rumi is the most famous (and perhaps finest) example.

Rumi, a Sufi mystic, has given the wisdom of life to the world. The purpose of this show is to share the insights into his words of wisdom that shall encourage us to self examine our experience and imbibe its core message.

To fully experience the ecstatic poetry of the Middle and Near East, you must hear it as originally intended: stirred ablaze by inspired music and rhythms before a live audience. In I Want Burning, Coleman Barks fuses his passionate scholarship with a deep feeling for the poetry of Rumi, Hafiz (a 14th-century Sufi mystic, called "one of the jewels in the necklace of Persian poetry"), and Lalla (an exquisite Kashmiri female poet of the 14th century).

Rumi is a renowned Sufi mystic who lived a life in devotion to the divine, through adhering to the ways of the appointed seal of the prophets, Muhammad (SAW), who can be more commonly referred to as the chosen one. Many fail to recognize and realize this. Many also fail to recognize who Shamsudeen Tabrizi (RA) was and how he had such a life-changing impact on the life of Rumi that would then make him world-famous and his works magnetic.
