Realtor Hannah Barry and her ex-police beagle Mazie are back on the case in Hunting Down the Heiress. Hannah and Mazie have cracked two cases and have been hit with the mystery-solving bug. As such, Hannah has decided to quit her realtor job and become a private investigator. Unfortunately, support is thin on the ground where her friends are concerned. They're worried about her physical and fiscal safety, but little will deter Hannah and super sniffer Mazie.

In a desire to cheer her up Hannah’s cousin Niles asks her to foster a recently injured police dog. Mazie is a sweet beagle but Hannah isn’t really keen on taking on a dog. However, she agrees to keep Mazie while Niles is out of town. Hannah is under pressure from her latest client Pricilla Bryant. Ms. Bryant wants her presumed dead brother’s property sold immediately. However, Hannah is hitting roadblocks at every turn and when blood is discovered in the basement, she is suspicious.
