In a mysterious town hidden in our collective subconscious there's a department store that sells dreams. Day and night, visitors both human and animal shuffle in to purchase their latest adventure. Each floor specializes in a specific type of dream: childhood memories, food dreams, ice skating, dreams of stardom. Flying dreams are almost always sold out. Some seek dreams of loved ones who have died. For Penny, an enthusiastic new hire, working at Dallergut is the opportunity of a lifetime.

It's been a year since Penny first walked through the doors of the Dallergut Dream Department Store, and surviving a year at the store means one thing… She is now an official employee of the dream industry! She can finally take the express commuter train to the Company District, where all the dream-production companies are located, and discover how all raw dream materials and testing equipment are produced. But the Company District is not quite what she expected. Instead it hides a secret underbelly of the magical industry that Penny thought she was a part of.

Para Penny, a entusiasmada nova funcionária, trabalhar nessa loja é a oportunidade da sua vida. Ao descobrir o funcionamento desse mundo excêntrico, ela se une a personagens inesquecíveis, como DallerGut, o extravagante e sábio proprietário.

È passato un anno da quando Penny è stata assunta dal signor Dollagut per lavorare al Grande Magazzino dei Sogni: con determinazione ha portato avanti il suo incarico, alle prese con le richieste più disparate dei clienti, i prodotti in esaurimento, le bottiglie piene di emozioni e le bilance Pesa-Palpebre. Il signor Dollagut è molto soddisfatto del suo impegno e le comunica che può finalmente ricevere il badge di ingresso al centro aziendale: un'area esclusiva, a cui solo i lavoratori dell'industria dei sogni con almeno un anno di esperienza possono accedere.

Penny è in grande trepidazione: sta per avere un colloquio con il famoso signor Dollagut, l'illuminato proprietario del Grande Magazzino dei Sogni, il negozio su quattro piani più ambito della città. Un posto del tutto singolare dove si accede solo da addormentati e dove si vendono solo sogni.
