Vilja está al borde de la desesperación. Ha enviado un mensaje de socorro a los Bandídez y no le han respondido. Si no la rescatan pronto, tendrá que pasar un verano aburrido y triste en un campamento musical. Echa de menos viajar con ellos en la bandidofurgona, hacer noche en la playa y tomar mermelada de amapola. Además, el festival de verano de los ladrones está a la vuelta de la esquina, el ganador será el próximo rey o reina de los ladrones ¡y Vilja no puede perdérselo!

Vilja va de vacaciones a la casa de su abuela con sus padres y su hermana. De repente, una furgoneta les corta el paso y nuestra protagonista es secuestrada. Sus raptores son los Bandídez, una familia de estrafalarios ladrones de chuches y chocolates, botín que prefieren al dinero, con el que no saben muy bien qué hacer. Junto a ellos, pasará el verano más emocionante de su vida a bordo de la bandidofurgona, durmiendo al aire libre y disfrutando de grandes comilonas de dulces.

Maisie is convinced her summer holiday is going to be as boring as ever - until a bungled raid on her family’s car sees her snatched by the Robbersons, a bunch of bandits with an insatiable appetite for sweets!
