I Ærtehalm – Mug i Blåvandshuk skal Ærte og H på cykelferie langs den jyske vestkyst, men strander på en campingplads i Blåvandshuk, efter deres far er blevet forelsket i isdamen. Men Ærte og H opdager, at campingchefen er virkelig underlig. Han udstopper dyr i sin fritid med egyptisk mug og lusker rundt nede ved bunkeren på stranden. Desværre kan Ærte og H ikke finde ud af at holde sammen, som de plejer.

Ærte og H er søstre. Engang hang de sammen ved skulderen. Det gør de ikke længere, men når de lægger skuldrene mod hinanden, kan de tænke sammen.
