Story
An updated version of the seminal 1994 classic volume on the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Nearly every book with "wabi" or "wabi sabi" in the title is based on the concepts first elucidated in this book. Wabi-sabi is the quintessential Japanese aesthetic. It is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional....

Story
It is the mid-1980s in South Africa. The White minority of this Black nation is fighting—politically and physically—to maintain its leadership. Like his ancestor, this 20th-century militant and charismatic leader has assembled an army of ferocious, loyal fighters that embarks on a bloody campaign to topple white rule.

Story
For years, among members of the US Intelligence community, there was an undeserved smugness that highly placed Soviet Intelligence operatives such the British spies Guy Burgess, Donald Maclean, and Harold “Kim” Philby could never happen here in the United States. Despite the Hiss and Rosenberg cases, Americans were thought superior to “that sort of thing”. Besides, our security procedures and regulations were thought to be airtight.

Story
Billy Dew is now wanted for murder in two states. He’s become the source of urban legends in the states he’s touched, his scars are recognizable, and his vintage Oakland A’s jersey has become something of a trademark. With the Oakland police in hot pursuit and having just crashed the van he’s stolen, Billy’s only option is to leap from the vehicle and roll under a nearby station wagon for cover. Unaware of which friends he still has in his corner, Billy’s only option is to keep his head down and make provisions for his escape for the border.

Story
The Marquis d’Arville recounts to his dinner companions why he has refused to go hunting although his ancestors were fanatical about the sport. For his ancestors, Jean and François, hunting was ''the only thing they spoke of and lived for.'' One day, they heard reports of an enormous wolf that was terrorizing the locals, preying on livestock, injuring guard-dogs, wounding a woman and devouring two children. As a result, the brothers resolve to find and kill the beast. It proved difficult.
