The SignalMan' is a short story by the famous author Charles Dickens. A man meets a railway worker witnessing supernatural events. The man doubts the worker in the beginning, but he starts to believe the worker through the story.

The story tells how the mind of a wealthy duke has changed after meeting a poor soldier coming from a different part of the country. The story is thought to be influenced by the FrenchPrussian War in 1887. Coppee writes about the war and how it changes people with an impressive literary style.

Don Juan Belvideore, the young and spoiled son of the wealthy aristocrat Bartolammeo Belvidore, visits his father after being told that his father is on death bed by a maid. During this visit, the father tells his son about an elixir in one of his drawers and wants him to put on this liquid on his body after his death. This liquid shall turn him back to life and make him young again. Don Juan who does not follow his dad’s wish at the time, will wish the same thing from his own son.
