Birdie is a sweet and lonely caged bird who lives in the garden outside his owner’s cottage. As he sits in his cage day after day, he watches other birds fly the blue skies and wonders why he is not free to fly, too. What did he do wrong? Birdie really wants a friend and tries to find one, but it just isn’t happening for him. Then one day, a beetle named Berty falls into his cage, and suddenly Birdie is so happy: He has his first friend. But after tragedy strikes, Birdie becomes desperate to escape his confinement.
