Adrian is an alpha descendant with gifts that allow him to call and charm others like himself. Three months after the nuclear world war that turned America into a dangerous wasteland, Safe Haven has made it from California to South Dakota. Adrian now has six of the seven gifted people he needs to ensure the survival of their country. However, not everyone can handle Adrian’s version of safety - including some of his closest people. The refugee camp begins to rip apart, when Angela joins the Eagles, allowing a dangerous enemy to get too close.

The fall of society triggered a hard, new life where survival became the only focus. We shunned each other and the old ways, killing anyone who was different. We reverted to primitive behaviors, using the war as an excuse to commit unspeakable atrocities, and humanity slipped deeper into the abyss of possible extinction. Soon, darkness blanketed the post-apocalyptic lands with hatred and violence that seemed to have no end. The future, cold and dark, offered little hope.

After months of carrying burdens alone through the apocalypse, Adrian finally has the help he needs. Five of the six have come, and he can’t wait to get things started. With Angie’s power and his own secret skills, he is about to rebuild an entire country - if he can keep them away from the slavers long enough to get these special people to bond. Angela has moved Safe Haven to the apocalyptic Mountains of Georgia to make their stand. She has put a plan in motion that will free them or get them all killed.
