I am a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of working with children and parents who are going through a tough time. I also teach child psychology at the University of Southampton and love being part of research teams looking at a range of issues such as screen time, body image and resilience. I have always enjoyed reading, and when I was little I wanted to be an author who toured the country in a motorhome with a cat. I haven't quite got the motorhome or the cat yet, but I am having a great time being part of different book writing teams, sharing what I know about psychology with all of you. Because I love talking about psychology so much, I also end up on TV and on radio quite a bit, chatting about families, and every week I am an Agony Aunt for the Metro. Research is telling us so much about who we are and why we behave the way we do. It's important for everyone to get to know about this research because it makes you feel more empowered and confident. My books are a way of passing on that research, so I hope you enjoy them!
