I enjoyed the author's take on imposter syndrome, as well as the difference between confidence and competence.

For an audiobook this is a great lesson. If you're interested in understanding why people make decisions I'd recommend this book. You'll enjoy it

One important takeaway I got from this book is that when people are told to do something they often do the opposite. People prefer autonomy and their decision making and don't like to be forced to do something. A better way to get someone to do something you want is to reverse engineer the process. Provide people with information and research about a specific service or product and let them make the decision for themselves. This process does take patience but it does work and avoids alienating an audience.

It was awesome to hear the story of Trey Gowdy. I thought the beginning of the book was the most interesting. Hearing about how Trey grew up and some his struggles as a prosecutor were interesting.

For a book on persuasion and communication, they're some good tips here.

Also, for those that read the book, Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss, and liked it, you'll like this book as well.

I took many notes as I was listening to this audiobook.

I think one of the biggest takeaways for me was planning out my sales process. After listening to this audiobook, I feel I need to spend more time laying out every sales interview that I get.

Also, I like the author's consistent recommendation for continuing education.

Overall, it's an excellent book for the novice or intermediate salesperson.

In the first half of the book, I didn't find many takeaways. A lot of it felt like basic principles and common sense topics on selling.

However, in the 2nd half of the book, I thought it was terrific. And there were some excellent takeaways. Chapter 7, "Take Care of Your Current Clients" was my favourite chapter, and I took some good notes to help with client retention.

Also, this quote from Chapter 9, "Content doesn't drive sales but can create a conversation," I thought was masterful.

Overall, a good audiobook. 1st half a bit slow, but 2nd half has some useful tips for obtaining and retaining clients.

As a personal trainer, I found a lot of the lessons around weightlifting and diet refreshing. For example, in fitness, you can track workouts, the amount of weight lifted, body weight, body fat, etc. Diet you can track calories, foods consumed, weight loss/gain, etc.

Sticking to good habits creates results and helps keep you on track of your goals. If you don't stay consistent, you will lose track and likely fail.

One thing that the author mentions that I found to resonate with was the importance of novelty for keeping habits. From a personal trainer's perspective, that may mean introducing new exercises, new equipment, new program design styles, etc. Whatever you can do to keep the client engaged and committed. It's not an easy job to do, but it's necessary for long-term retention.

Good lessons from this book for a personal trainer.

Also, I'm not a big fan of long audiobooks and this book was the perfect length for my liking.

Cool book. I would recommend this book to any aspiring strength coaches or those that are in the process of starting to get their feet wet. Coach McKeefery shares his journey to becoming a strength coach and a bunch of the hurdles he went through. I couldn't agree more about landing a good internship. Awesome job Ron.

I would highly recommend this book as a follow-up to the Millionaire Fastline. The FU pot, the Home pot and Payment Pot resonated with me. Something I'll be implementing or at least thinking about going forward. Also, MJ's take on money versus wealth was great! Awesome book!
