3hrs in and loving it. Pace is good, story flows and can't go wrong with RC Bray. Amazing so far. Going to get the next book!

good, but not my favorite

After listening to The Retreat boxset by Craig DeLouie read by RC Bray...this felt very slow and dry. It starts off really good but then turns into a different type of story... I'm about 10hrs in and wanting to like this, but have to keep changing books.
not much action here...it's still trying to find itself 10hrs in....

what an amazing book and listen from start to finish. I didn't expect this to be that good, but really glad I got it. if you like submarine movies, or WW2 history, this is it! give it a listen. narrator is amazing and so is the story.

not the same as the other books...

I struggled with this one. It keeps jumping from scene to scene, character to character. The flow... well, it didn't flow for me.
I loved the other books by Makos. But this one, it just felt like a documentary/memoirs.
Some may love it, but this is a pass for me.
