À propos de cet audio
This book is for those who suffered as the scapegoat child to a narcissistic parent. The scapegoat child is emotionally deprived, devalued and trapped by the parent. The child comes to believe they are defective and undeserving. These beliefs can plague the individual into adulthood.
Scapegoating reflects the narcissistic parent’s own emotional disturbance–not the child’s.
Healing is possible for scapegoat survivors! New healthy beliefs about oneself can be established. This book explains how to heal with the three pillars of recovery:
- Making sense of the narcissistic abuse so you know it was not your fault
- Creating distance from narcissistic abusers in your life today
- Living in defiance of the narcissist's rules
Listeners will learn to apply these pillars in their own lives and reclaim the quality of life they deserve.

The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

But It’s Your Family is a remarkable account of what it means to cut ties to toxic family abuse and thrive in the aftermath. Loving someone doesn’t always mean having a relationship with them, just like forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation. Reconciling, in many cases, only sets people up for more abuse. A significant part of healing comes with accepting that this is a part of life; there are some relationships that are so poisonous that they destroy one’s ability to be healthy and function best.

Traumatic experiences leave a “living legacy” of effects that often persist for years and decades after the events are over. Historically, it has always been assumed that retelling the story of what happened would resolve these effects. However, survivors report a different experience: Telling and re-telling the story of what happened to them often reactivates their trauma responses, overwhelming them rather than resolving the trauma.

Life-changing book for scapegoated children of narcissistic parents
The best and most influential book on the topic of parental narcissistic abuse I have ever came across.
This is a book that will change your view and experience of yourself if you were unfortunate enough to be scapegoated by one of your parents.
It has brought so much light to my behaviours, feelings and thoughts it is hard to describe.
My most sincere thanks to Jay for publishing his insights. He has greatly and positively influenced my life & for that I am infinitely grateful.
Do yourself a favour and buy his book! You will see yourself in a totally different light and finally understand the twilight zone you experienced! Good luck and wishing you much healing ❤️

Spot On!
Oh just when you think you have healed all this family stuff …only to discover more things which still need healing. I laughed out loud at the part, when the mom is furiously angry and screaming at the kids … the phone rings.. she answers it …’oh hi … how are you?’ in the sweetest voice ever.. that happened in our house ALL the time! This book pretty much summed up my family! And, I was definitely the scapegoat. One thing this book did do for me was help me realize how much healing I have done already ..still healing … which maybe never ends … but very affirming that I have come a long way!
