    Catherine Chao, is a cause-driven communicator and a vice president, Insights & Analytics, at the Ad Council, a nonprofit that uses the power of communications to drive behavior change on social impact issues.

    She oversees audience research, strategic development, and evaluation for campaigns dedicated to improving mental health. Her approach to every campaign is ensuring the target audience's voice and mindset is at the forefront so that creative not only raises awareness, but also inspires action. She has a Master of Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill.

    Jason Hunziker, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and Associate Professor (Clinical Track) at the University of Utah. A graduate of the University of Utah (BS Anthropology, cum laude, 1994; MD, 2002), he was inducted into AOA and served as Chief Resident. He actively teaches and mentors medical students, residents, and physician assistants. As Division Chief of Adult Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Medical Director for University of Utah Health plans, he specializes in complex medical, substance use, and behavioral health issues. He is also the Utah delegate to the American Psychiatric Association.

    Adrienne Ammerman is a health communications professional with 18 years of experience at the local, regional, state, & national levels. She has dedicated her career to empowering health communicators to support their communities with evidence-based, culturally competent, and measurable health information.

    In 2019, through her work with WNC Health Network, Adrienne initiated the creation of a collective impact collaborative that has grown to include health communicators representing public health agencies, hospitals, and community-based partners across the 18 counties of western North Carolina. During the pandemic, Adrienne coordinated a customizable regional communications campaign to build local communicators’ capacity to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. Highlighted by the CDC as a model strategy, this approach is now being adapted in WNC for use with other priority health issues.

    Adrienne holds an MA in communications with a concentration in health communication from Johns Hopkins University and was a 2023 Information Futures Fellow at Brown University School of Public Health.

Johnson-Turbes leads the Center, focused on scientifically rigorous, social science research, expanding culturally responsive research, engaging the community, building partnerships, and embedding equity principles in research across a range of activities and departments. She is an experienced and award-winning social scientist with over 20 years of conducting communication, social marketing, public health, and public policy research, including rigorous measurement of communication messages, materials, and campaigns to promote equity. Johnson-Turbes blends her academic background in political science, political behavior, and public policy with years of work in public health, health communication, and evaluation. She received her BA at Hampton University, MA, and PhD at Purdue University with continued studies in political science and quantitative methods at Leiden University and the University of Chicago. Johnson-Turbes serves on the Board for BLKHLTH, as an Adjunct Professor at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, and the Vice President for the Society for Health Communication.
