    Feb 3 2025
EP141 - Monty’s Journey: From Health Scare to Strength and Confidence In this episode, I sit down with Hipolito “Monty” Montero, a man whose weight loss journey has been deeply connected to his mindset, self-worth, and personal growth. Monty shares how childhood struggles, confidence issues, and emotional eating played a role in his weight gain, and how a wake-up call from his doctor changed everything. After being told his heart was 53% bigger than it should be, Monty realised he had to take action—not just for himself, but for his family. Over time, he built sustainable habits, found strength in a supportive community, and ultimately learned to love and respect himself. This episode is packed with inspiration and actionable takeaways for anyone struggling with self-doubt, motivation, or breaking free from unhealthy habits. Key Highlights: • The wake-up call: A health scare that forced Monty to make a change. • Small steps, big impact: How running and portion control started his transformation. • The power of mindset: Learning to value himself beyond the number on the scale. • Overcoming emotional eating: Finding better ways to cope with stress and past trauma. • Sustainable habits: Why experimenting with food, portion sizes, and lifestyle changes helped Monty maintain his progress. Jenn shares her incredible insights into breaking free from the frustrating cycle of yo-yo dieting and how to build a sustainable approach to health and nutrition. We dive deep into why diets fail, how cravings are actually biochemical signals (not a moral failure!), and how understanding your body can transform your approach to food. This episode is packed with actionable advice and mindset shifts to help you focus on lasting health instead of quick fixes. Jenn’s 12-week curriculum is a powerful framework for anyone looking to make real, meaningful changes in their life. Key Highlights: • The truth about cravings: They’re not moral failings—they’re your body’s way of communicating. • Why diets fail: Most diets result in loss of water, muscle, and bone, which leads to metabolic challenges. • Breaking the cycle: Sustainable weight loss happens when we understand our body and its needs. • Actionable mindset shifts: Focus on small, daily changes that build over time. • The Amazing Transformation Of Amy
    Dec 16 2024
EPISODE 134: Revisiting The Amazing Transformation Of Amy Today I am bringing you an episode first recorded in March 2023 and if you haven't heard it, you won't want to miss it. Amy was such an inspiring guest and received amazing feedback when it was first shared. Often, it can take a harsh reality check to realise just how bad our health or situation has become. Weight gain tends to happen over time, and we find ways to adjust and cope with the increasing level of difficulty of doing every day tasks like walking up the stairs. In this episode Amy shares how humiliation and the feeling of letting her daughter down at a theme park inspired her to make a change. Amy explains how she took that first step to join Slimming World after a number of months of declining offers to go with a friend. Finally she changed her mind and hasn't looked back since. In this weight loss success story, I found the level of discipline that Amy developed incredible and massively inspiring. To lose 12.5 took time and perserverance, but she didn't give up and now leads a life that was once thought of being impossible to have.
