There are many types of privilege, but they all share two characteristics: Privilege delivers benefits, wealth, and power that are unearned. Privilege is destabilizing for many reasons: The dead weight of privilege reduces productivity, generates perverse incentives, and fuels social injustice.

"The Poverty of Philosophy" is a book by Karl Marx published in Paris and Brussels in 1847, where he lived in exile from 1843 until 1849. This work is a scathing criticism of the economic and philosophical arguments of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon's "The Philosophy of Poverty".
