Mexi makes friends with some new dogs and introduces her best friend Canna to her new friends, along with Dylan. They learn to play together, no matter their size or age. Then they have a sad time when one of the older friends, Chip, starts feeling poorly and goes to the big farm in heaven. Mexi and her friends learn that when their friend dies, they think about all the wonderful times they have had and the beautiful memories they have of their friend to keep their friend alive in their minds and thoughts, and also, that they must talk to their parents if they feel sad.

Inspired by the true history of the SS Great Britain, Starboard is about the friendship, heroism and bravery that you can find in others, whether they’re made of flesh or iron. It’s about taking control of your own life and going on epic adventures. But most of all, it’s about finding out who you really dare to be, when you’re completely out of your depth.
