Publisher's Summary

Perturabo - master of siegecraft and the executioner of Olympia. Long has he lived in the shadow of his more favoured primarch brothers, frustrated by the mundane and ignominious duties which regularly fall to his Legion.

When Fulgrim offers him the chance to lead an expedition in search of ancient and destructive xenos weaponry, the Iron Warriors and the Emperor's Children unite and venture deep into the heart of the great star maelstrom that haunts Perturabo's dreams.

Pursued by vengeful survivors from Isstvan V and the revenants of a dead eldar world, they must work quickly if they are to unleash the devastating power of the Angel Exterminatus.

First 40k read, pretty damn good.

not amazingly original, gives some backstory to legions/primarchs. Action is detailed but concise, and the dialogue well characterized (made even better by the voice actor).

It had this time travel-y sequence near the end, going along with a warpy theme. really good stuff. It's all either goood or great and I want more.

Iron Within, Iron Without!

This is my favorite HH book out of the 40 ish iv read, the Iron warriors are an unstoppable force and the Lord of iron gets very flashed out in this book as well as many of his warriors. The only thing I wish is that the Iron warriors had simply squished the pathetic Emperors Children but that's just my personal wish. This is a listen to again and again book. Also love my Iron hands, really advances their story very interesting.

A must for any Iron Warrior fan

A great story to listen to while painting. Gives character, lore and meaning to the Iron Warrior legion that their color scheme and general depiction fails to convey.

great story great connection to future novels specifically Storm of Iron. can be read at any point and doesn't give away anything else during the heresy.
