About this listen

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

Angron is roused to war once again, unleashed upon a weakened and vulnerable galaxy. Can it withstand his boundless rage?

Listen to it because:

David Guymer brings Angron back into the 41st Millennium with a furious roar, as he calls his scattered Legion back to his side and embarks on an epic conquest.

The story:

In the darkness of Imperium Nihilus, across half a million worlds cut off from the dim light of Holy Terra, a beacon is lit. The Red Angel returns to an unsteady galaxy and his scattered sons heed the call to slaughter. Aboard the World Eaters’ flagship, Kossolax the Foresworn, self-appointed lord regent of the XII, fights to keep the old dreams of the Legion alive, but finds the return of his hated father both an opportunity and a threat to the warriors’ fragile unity.

Marooned on a worthless moon with a rag-tag band of traitors as despicable as himself, Ortan Leidis of the Angels of the Grail dares to dream of something greater.

Half a galaxy away, Graucis Telomane of the Grey Knights has been readying himself for this day, and plans six centuries in the making are finally set in motion – plans that will see the eradication of the Emperor’s greatest mistake once and for all...

generic

Nothing good to see here, just more generic 40k slop. 40k is really about their premiere writers.

So Good

I honestly did not have very high expectation when I started reading this one, I am happy to report that I was wrong. This is a fun read, especially if you're a World Eaters (duh!) or Grey Knights fan.

Good but no the best

Most of this book follows the foot steps of either a grey knight or the maddened world eaters trying to steer the flagship to where they can do what they always do. Very little has to do with Angron other than when he's causing mayhem and carnage.
I just found the book really hard to get into. Mostly because of the world eaters and their rather straight forward way of thinking. It's nothing against the author it's just the nature of world eaters to be frothing mad men.
I might eventually listen to it again. But if you want more than hacking, slashing and a whole lot of Daddy issues I'd keep looking.
Good execution just not exactly my type.

A great look at the World Eaters

A perfect way to look into what it means to be a World Eater post destruction of Cadia

Audio books to the next level

Actually next level audio book with fantastic voice lines and effects, immersive sound effects, and a quite compelling story that goes into great detail on the current state of the World Eaters and just how goddamn angry someone named Angron can be.

Pretty average.

Pretty par for the course story, a couple characters were interesting but most were forgettable. I know it’s world eaters but all the long drawn out yelling a grunting got annoying after a while.

Good acting, mediocre story

the only reason I got through this was comparing the narrator's voices to the Night Lords trilogy by ADB, which he also narrates. Do yourself a solid, listen to those instead.

Really good

One of the best 40K audiobooks I’ve listened to. From the story to the voice acting it was great

Great listen!

Interesting insight on the World Eaters and their father. Liked how they talk about the nails and how they deal with there pain.
