Story
The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

Publisher's Summary
A stand-alone epic fantasy adventure featuring a band of legendary mercenaries set in the world of Kings of the Wyld from author Nicholas Eames, who has been hailed as "the voice of modern fantasy" by Michael R. Fletcher.
Live fast, die young.
Tam Hashford is tired of working at her local pub, slinging drinks for world-famous mercenaries and listening to the bards sing of adventure and glory in the world beyond her sleepy hometown.
When the biggest mercenary band of all rolls into town, led by the infamous Bloody Rose, Tam jumps at the chance to sign on as their bard. It's adventure she wants - and adventure she gets as the crew embark on a quest that will end in one of two ways: glory or death.
It's time to take a walk on the wyld side.

What the critics say
"I was a big fan of Kings of the Wyld, but I think Bloody Rose has actually topped it. Eames once again hits the perfect balance of humor and heart, irreverent references and real emotion. The characters are great, the adventure is epic, and he's slowly deepening the worldbuilding in a way that has me eager for more." (Django Wexler, author of The Thousand Names)
"Bloody Rose solidifies what Kings of the Wyld proved. Eames writes like a hurricane and has a voice like no one else in this genre." (Sam Sykes)

Kicks ass from beginning to end
An adventure that blends sword slinging action with punk rock sensibilities.
A must read for fantasy fans looking for something a bit different.
The action scenes are fast and suspenseful and the characters are an absolute joy to listen to. The narrator does a great job capturing their distinct personalities and a sense of camaraderie through the good times and the bad.
I expect I will listen to this one again very soon.

Excellent sequel to Kings of the Wyld
A wild ride with Fable, culminating in an epic finale to the seeds planted in Kings of the Wyld. Fresh faces and voices riding on a narrative planted on old scores left unsettled... An excellent representation of some of the genre's most fantastic, complex and epic female characters.
Can't wait to see what Nicholas Eames has next!

force awaken with confused narration
if you like emipire over a new hope you will like this book. but buy the print version as the narrator is hard to fallow. would give her a lower score but her version of rose and the new main character is great as well as the satyr are great. the other characters blend together and makes it hard to fallow.

As Good as the First
I really enjoyed Kings of the Wyld, so I had high expectations for this book, and they were definitely meet. excellent story, great brisk pace, and although the new narrator was different, she brought some excellent flavour to the characters. I highly recommend this title.
