About this listen
The popular adventures of Miles Vorkosigan, a clever and outlandish science fiction hero for the modern era, continue in these three tales. In The Mountains of Mourning, Miles is dispatched to a back-country region of Barrayar, where he must act as detective, judge, and executioner in a controversial murder case.
In Labyrinth, Miles adopts his alternate persona as Dendarii Mercenary Admiral Naismith for an undercover mission to rescue an important research geneticist from Jackson’s Whole. And in the title story, Miles infiltrates an escape-proof Cetagandan POW camp and plays hero to the most deeply distressed damsel of his colorful career.
Lois McMaster Bujold burst upon the science fiction world in 1986 with Shards of Honor, the first of the Vorkosigan Saga novels. She has won the Hugo Award four times and the Nebula Award twice. The mother of two, she lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Amusing
This story surprises with some of Miles actions, casual sex , lies and manipulation. So future space ships and derring do but not the same old thing . The narrator has a pleasant lightly ironic manner, the science is casual and the stories improbable. But good .

Bujold entertains, tells a great story
Another in the celebrated Vork series. Story telling at its best, with complete volumes that lead to the next book without cheating the reader out of a satisfying ending.

Great story, technical difficulties
This is a fabulous collection of Bujold's novellas, a worthy addition to the series. The voice acting/vocal performance is solid and Gardner is to be commended for his interpretation of some of the more difficult characters, particularly the genetic construct in Labryanth.
Unfortunately the recording is glitchy in that the first syllable of nearly every section of the text is cut off--lost in the transfer from CD audio to Audible's file format. It is _Very_ annoying and a plague on this entire series of audio books.

Tough to follow as an avid listener
I got lost at the second event in the last half of the book. Took me 6 play throughs to finish the book. I like the series but there are continuity issues between the books.
