Mal and the crew take receipt of a sealed crate that they are being paid to transport to Badger, no questions asked. Yet once their cargo is safely stowed aboard, River insists Mal should "space" it out of the airlock, for it contains, she insists, ghosts.

This definitely feel different than what one is used to with Firefly... Its hard to write a review without spoilers, but let's just say most of this book is NOT shiny!

Without revealing anything, I would have like some... resolution to come at the end of the book, as it is, it feels like a lot of pain and despair that brought about no changes at all, so it feels quite hopeless in a way...

Still some nice insight into our crews hearts and not a bad story although quite different. It's only a few hours, worth a listen in my opinion to make your own.

Interesting storyline but much darker than the other books or TV series. Would have been very interesting to see how they film this if it were to be an episode. Not my favorite of the 3 listen to thus far.

way more violent than the other books. but I thought it was an interesting storyline. my major complaint is this is listed as Book 3, but apparently it is actually Book 4 in the series - I was quite surprised when certain events seemed reversed in "Generations".
