About this listen

When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier.

Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

Now the late Harry Dresden will have to pull off the ultimate trick without using any magic - or face an eternity as just another lost soul....

Not the usual.

A different style compared to the previous books. It distracted me throughout. Definately worth reading.

my favorite book

I really enjoyed this book and how it explored the fallout of chicago without Harry in it. For me, it was about relationships not necessarily the story that I found really enjoyable.

great, but sounds like an echo chamber

the story, great, but James Marsters sounds like it was recorded in a concrete bunker the echo was so bad. don't know why though. the other books he has read sound fine.

Review For Ghost Story

Loved it! The narrator was brilliant and the story was the same great quality as the rest of the Dresden Files series.

exactly the breather I needed

after the insane pace of the last two books, I took a break, bought book 12.5, listened to all but the last story. I'm still glad I did it, but if I had known what a breather this book would give me, I probably wouldn't have needed to.
yes a lot happens, yes the stakes are there, but the presentation was very different. it gave me a grounding that I needed before the action kicks up again.
looking forward to the next volume

Throughly enjoyed this!

This was a nice break from the last two books. it's like having a nice cup of coffee and having all the time in the world.

James was in fine form (but the sound was a bit off. Bob sounded different.) This series is getting better each book.

still good

not as good as other dresden but still very enjoyable. the ending comes at you from a mile away, while the book has significantly less stakes then the previous book. I would still recommend it though as a fun ride and is very well read by james marsters.

Awesome as usual

With Jim Butcher's great writing, and James Marsters' colourful and immersive reading, I'm never disappointed.

Awsome

One of the best series I've had ever. Love the fact that James Marsters ( spike) reads it. Makes it all so much better.
