I never would have believed that Damon’s story would be the one that made me weep. So many pages of heartbreaking cruelty, showing how hurt people hurt people and themselves. Watching the scenes play out from his point of view is so very hard, but like everything else get a easier with time. It really is the most beautiful story so far.

Out of the entire series this book was my favourite both to read and listen to. Both the fmc and the mmc are so deeply traumatized by each other and their families but in a way that doesn’t seem too over the top. Was the mmc go through as a kid friggen haunts me… the pain he felt is gut wrenching and his obsessive love for the fmc is unique and salaciously villainous. I will listen to this again and again chasing the high forever.

When you get to hear each characters personal story, it really gives a twist to who they really are. Still the same personality but a little bit more uncovered than just a basic A-hole. But makes you love Damon way more... just a bit more.

I can't really say that I loved this story but it was better than the first ones, that's for sure. I was expecting more from Damon's character and his journey through the books and was a bit disappointed, to say the least. For me this series was way more hyped than it should have been. Don't get me wrong, I usually love Penelope Douglas' books but I guess we can't love them all. I really don't think I ll be finishing this series and thats never happened to me yet 🫤 Sorry but I can't keep pushing through if the story doesn't captivate me from the beginning. Mind you this is MY personal opinion and thoughts! You don't need to agree with it. If you do enjoy this series well good for you, you do you boo! 👏 Enjoy

I was definitely most excited for Damon’s story, he’s a very messed up complex person and I needed in his head. You truly do end up feeling for him. There was the sub plot with him and will that kinda came out of nowhere and wasn’t really explained much when I felt I needed more explanation…. Maybe I’ll get it in wills book. But all and all, good story, I’m also just not a big fan of the guy narrator. He sounds a lot older then Damon’s suppose to be.
