About this listen

The Demon Lord is dead.

The System is broken.

Somehow, Elias Hearthsong is neither of these things, despite being at the final battle of the Demon Wars. He is a Master Enchanter, perhaps the last one alive. Determined to keep a promise, he crosses the continent to protect his dead friend's legacy: a crumbling orphanage run by a beautiful kitsune.

He isn't a teacher, nor does he have experience with children. But with the love of a few good women, anything can become possible.

Great Listen!

I'm not one to write reviews on anything but this was a very enjoyable thing to listen to, I spent my entire day just laying back and was immersed into this world. I hope we will hear more of this series in the future!

ANOTHA! *Smashes mug on the ground*

A thoroughly entertaining listen. Decent doses of humour and plot, with a very solid haremlit base.

Amazing

I loved every part of it. You are so perfect at writing and the voice actors did a perfect job at all the voices and the emotions of the characters

world building on point

the world building of these two authors combined is absolutely on point. there are a number of supporting characters in this story that you just cannot help but feel for. I was laughing and crying at different times for the little girl Maori.. towards the end of the book you will find why I felt like I was heartbroken for this little girl. the romantic tension between Eli and the ladies is there and while quick for the first one it builds respectively throughout the book and there are only I think three chapters in this with the (m) subset. and while mature. it is not over the top..... I appreciate the voice actors and their absolute stunning ability to bring the book to Life. I am a delivery driver so I can usually listen to a full book per day easily and this is another series that I will listen on repeat through Time Memorial I hope. on to the next book!

The narrators brought a very distinctive and unique voice for each character while the authors wrote compelling and interesting characters. Overall a very pleasant experience

Awesome stuff, if you're a horny 15 year old...

While I don't doubt considerable effort was put into this, it has some substantial issues. The protagonist is what every nerdy teenage lad wishes he was - self-confident, able to kick ass at will, apparently irresistable to a horde of half-human-half-something-else women, each of whom is more lithe/busty/full-lipped, or generally attractive than the last. There are few surprises here - our hero is faced with an issue and either effortlessly blows his way through it or negotiates a win. He fails exactly zero times in this book.

The other major issue is the repetitious and repetitive nature of the RPG component. Any time our man casts an enchantment, we're treated to "ENCHANTMENT ACTIVATED - IRON SKIN II - THIS ENCHANTMENT GRANTS THE USER 75% REDUCTION IN DAMAGE FROM PHYSICAL ATTACK blah blah blah". One of these is plenty, but in some battles he casts this two or three times and each time this is repeated. It's been a good long while since I played D&D, but thanks to this I can recite what "ROOT" does for you off by heart. It breaks the flow of the story and becomes annoying quickly.

Sex scenes are typical teenage fare - turgid this, thrusting that, juicy the other thing. Not very creative beyond the furry-appeal angle, I suppose. We've all heard better.

The voice acting is quite well done. Kudos to the actors involved.

Overall not worth the single credit I blew on it.
